Educated at The University of Virginia
Admission to The University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce
- Admission to The University of Virginia’s “Comm School” (as it is known) was very rigorous because there were two admission hurdles. First, one must be granted admission into The University of Virginia itself, not an easy task for a university that rejects more applications than any other university. Then, competing against these most excellent students, a second admission process for the McIntire School of Commerce reduced the entering class to just 300 of the brightest students. Truly the best of the best!
- Utilizing the Harvard Case Method and small class sizes, the Comm School curriculum was very demanding. In 2009 it was ranked Number 1 among undergraduate business schools and has been consistently ranked in the Top 10 in all years since Luigi studied there. Luigi graduated with a 3.3 GPA.
A Master of Science in Accounting
- Luigi’s intellectual curiosity led him to continue his education with a master’s degree in an era when they were much less prevalent. Returning to The University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce, Luigi earned his MSA degree with concentrations in Finance and Taxation. He graduated in 1986 with a 3.4 GPA.
